Sala Velasquez Lounge - Madrid

Sala Velasquez Lounge - Madrid

Iberia as Madrid is their home base operates several lounges, one of them in the Satellite Terminal where all non-Schengen flights operate. This lounge can be accessed by passengers flying in Business Class as well as OneWorld Sapphire and Emerald status passengers.

This lounge has recently been renovated and to be honest, they have one of the nicest business class lounges out there.
The decor pays homage to Iberia's color scheme with heavy usage of red.

There is plenty of seating options from sofas to tables as well as sleeping pods which are great for those in transit or if you stay overnight. Showers are also available to freshen up before a flight.
The lounge is divided into several areas for food, alcoholic beverages, coffee/tea and also a dinning area which was closed at the time I visited the lounge.

Plenty of sandwiches and as a hot option omelets and bacon were available. Interestingly the sandwiches were still in a plastic container, I suppose for sanitary reasons.

Alcohol is located at the far end of the lounge and was hard to find at first.

Häagen-Dazs Ice cream was also available for snacking.

Overall the Iberia lounge provides an excellent value as a business class lounge with great views, good food and relaxing areas.
