Here at PremiumCabin.Deals we have a love/hate relationship with Copa. They fly to many destinations across North and South America utilizing Panama as a convenient and smooth-less transfer hub. The problem is that Copa flies to destinations such as Montevideo, Santiago de Chile, and Buenos Aires , Rosario and Cordoba in Argentina with their Boeing 737s with recliner business class seats. Here's our trip report on their Boeing 737-700!

Old Recliner Seats...

These are perfectly acceptable on short haul or even East Coast to Panama flights but on longer flights they are at a disadvantage over Avianca or other carriers.

Yesterday 18th of September Copa announced the delivery of their first Boeing 737-900 MAX with a whole new Business Class, a Premium Economy product and new features across the plane. The first plane entered service on 19 Septmber with  revenue service to TPA and MIA, followed by SFO on Friday.

This new configuration features:

Dreams, a Business Class which features 16 seats in a 2-2 configuration

Economy Extra: which is still a 3-3 cabin but featuring more legroom and10 inch IFE
screens.

Economy Class has 126 seats at a 3-3 configuration, with no IFE but with a Mobile phone holder and a USB Cable charger at each seat.

Huge overhead bins that can accommodate 50% more hand luggage!
