Nice sale with Aeromexico from New York to Lima, Peru via Mexico City. The nice thing about Aeromexico is that it credits as 40% of Distance to Delta as MQDs so it's a very efficient and effective way to pad your account.
JFK-LIM earns 14157 MQMs 2831 MQDs 4.64 MQD Ratio while Delta Diamond members would obtain 31145 RDMs, Platinum 25482 RDMs, Gold 22651 RDMs, Silver 19820 RDMs, Base 14157 RDMs
FlyingBlue members would obtain 24 XPs for JFK-MEX and 24 XPs MEX-LIM for a total of 96 XPs.

I traveled on this biz class fare from JFK to MDE via MEX. Not worth it. They are flying crappy 737's with subpar recliners. You might be able to codeshare onto a Delta 757 which is only just slightly better.
ReplyDeleteIt does not appear that AM is operating their 787's with the lie-flats any longer out of JFK.
Lastly, NO MEAL service is being offered in Business. That was a major bummer as the flight is 5 hours. They did offer a snack but it is meagre.
Adding insult to injury - Sky Priority is bottom priority when it comes to boarding as they are boarding the plane from aft to fore.
A couple of other observations during this trip.
1) the amex centurion lounge at MEX appears to still be temporarily closed. I was told at the JFK centurion lounge that it was supposed to open on Jan 8th but here I am in MEX and the Amex lounge is still closed.
2) The AM lounge is not anything to get excited about. Very light snacks and beers, wine and some spirits are complimentary. They offer food for sale. They do have showers but the wait can be long, during my 5 hour on a Sunday earlier this month the wait was 2 hours.
