Aeromexico is having a nice sale ex-Canada to Havana, Cuba. These work well for FlyingBlue members as the Canada to Mexico flights are over 2000 miles and give more XPs. These DON'T work for Delta flyers as most US programs don't give miles for flights to/from Cuba...

Canada to Mexico is 24 XPs each way with Mexico to Cuba another 15 XPs each way, so each RT gives 78 XPs.

You can schedule some long layovers in Mexico City which would allow you to explore the city since you can reach the Zocalo via metro, 45 minutes to an hour both ways and see the Cathedral, National Palace and Rivera Murals, and the Templo Mayor or if you have some more time you can venture out to Teotihuacán which is an ancient Mesoamerican city located 30 miles (50 km) northeast of modern-day Mexico City.
