Austrian is having a decent sale on their flights from London to Amman via Vienna. Sadly these flights operate with their Eurobusiness seats so you basically get a regular seat with a blocked middle seat. These book into P Class so earnings at 100% at most Star Alliance programs or 4634 miles except with Miles & More which it earns based upon the paid fare.
But the beauty of this fare is that it works great for Miles & More flyers in the new iteration of the program, this iteration indicates that Intercontinental flights earn significantly more than Continental flights. Jordan is considered part of Asia, earning the same as a flight to Tokyo. So you would earn 40 Points/Qualifying Points for LHR-VIE and 100 Points/Qualifying Points for VIE-AMM earning a total of 480 Points/Qualifying Points.
Senator status can be earned by obtaining 2000 Points and 1000 Qualifying Points so in effect you can get Star Gold status with basically four of these flights. Here is a Trip Report with Austrian on the flight from Yerevan to Vienna.
